COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Editor's note: All identifying information of the student has been removed after he was found safe.
UPDATE: A McEachern High School student was thankfully found safe around 1 a.m. Friday morning after his dad said he got confused about his direction leaving school following an on-campus shooting Thursday. A woman found him and he is now back home with his parents.
He had been missing since the school dismissal following the shooting, his father told 11Alive's Cody Alcorn late Thursday night.
The dad believes that his son got confused when they were taking students to the reunification center where students' parents were -- before it was changed when they were sending some students back to the school.
Fortunately, he is now reunited with his family thanks to help from the community.
