Much-loved Ace of Cakes Duff Goldman is “thanking his lucky stars” he’s OK after being involved in a car accident this February. The baking show judge took to social media to share he is “fine” after the scary incident occurred.
Many fans will recognize Duff, 49, from Food Network‘s Kids Baking Championship and Holiday Baking Championship, as well as The Best Thing I Ever Ate, and Duff Takes the Cake. The culinary extraordinaire had a major scare ahead of his daughter’s third birthday this year. He describes the aftermath of the car accident he was involved in as “no joke” as he “makes a living with his hands.”

In an Instagram post, shared on February 3, Duff explained how he suddenly woke up after being involved in a car crash while on his way home from the airport.
The Food Network star wrote: “On my way home from the airport I was thinking about what kind of cake I was going to make for my daughter’s birthday. Next thing I knew I bleeding and surrounded by airbags.”
The Holiday Baking Championship favorite explained: “A drunk driver had swerved into my lane on a windy country road. After doing a systems check and finding that my only injury was to my hand I thanked my lucky stars that I’d still be there to celebrate her third birthday even if I couldn’t make her cake.”
When it comes to the reality TV star’s current condition, he adds: “I’m fine, but it’s gonna be a long road to recovery, and for someone like me who makes a living with my hands you can imagine that this is no joke.”
Duff added some words of warning at the end of his post, reminding people of the dangers of driving under the influence:
“There’s no excuse for driving drunk. None. Uber, taxi, call a friend. No excuse. Stay safe friends, count your blessings. If you’re drinking don’t drive, and if you’re driving, don’t drink.”

Fans ‘glad’ baking show judge is ‘safe’
Thankfully, Duff was able to make it home for his daughter, Josephine’s, third birthday this February.
The baking guru is a family man who exclusively explained in an interview with People Magazine how his young daughter “inspired” his 40-lb weight loss journey.
Duff had many people taking to his IG comments section to say they were so “glad” to know he is “safe” after the “terrifying” crash.
More offered to make Josephine a birthday cake, and others sent “prayers for quick healing” for Duff.
One person commented: “Hoping for a speedy recovery !!! And happy you’re still with us” and Duff replied: “Me too.”
