The video shows a violent altercation between two students outside Cosgrove Middle School. The assailant was a student in the ninth grade, and the victim was an 11-year-old student in middle school.
In the video, the brutal assailant can be seen approaching the victim after dismissal. As soon as he gets sufficiently close, he grabs the younger student and slams him to the ground. The younger boy can be seen pleading and saying, ‘it was the other dude’ in the video.
According to the district, the student was slammed to the ground and was evaluated by a medical practitioner after the incident. They will also be providing support for the student.
The video, which lasted less than a minute, shows the older student picking up the younger one and body-slamming him to the ground. The student landed on his backpack and then got up and ran. Parents are disgusted after watching the clip.
“It’s like, it makes your stomach turn,” said Spencerport parent Lisa Watson. “And that could be anybody’s kid.”
What is more horrible than the incident is that students watching this altercation were cheering and filming the scene instead of intervening and stopping this nuisance.
The school district has shared the video with the Ogden Police Department investigating the incident. The district is also conducting its investigation in accordance with the school’s code of conduct.
“We have shared the video with law enforcement officials and will continue to complete our investigation. Students found to have participated in this incident will be disciplined in accordance with our student code of conduct policy. This kind of behaviour is reprehensible and simply cannot and will not be tolerated.”

The school’s administration has been trying to deal with this matter as quickly and justly as possible.
The school has also offered counseling and support for the other students who witnessed this horrific incident.
The video has also raised questions about the role of social media in spreading disturbing content and the responsibility of schools and parents to address bullying and violence.
The district says the accused attacker is not in school right now. The victim’s parents have filed a police report, and assault charges are pending.
