Philip Aundry Thomas, beloved son, husband and father was the last of five children born to Laura Ellis-Thomas and the late Charles Lee Thomas. Philip was born in Montgomery, Alabama on June 11, 1977 and spent most of his childhood in Sprague, Alabama where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. He was educated at Pintlala Elementary and Montgomery County High Schools.
Philip joined the Navy on October 19, 1996 at the age of 19 and was deployed to Japan where he met the love of his life Stacy Thomas. Philip and Stacy were later married in Jacksonville, Florida on April 10, 2004. This union was blessed with three children: Keana Thomas, Philip Thomas, Jr., and Preston Thomas. Philip served honorably until his retirement. At the time of his sudden passing, he worked for Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA).
Philip Thomas was an active member of church and was well loved and respected by anyone he came in contact with him. Philip offered encouragement to young men and was a vital part of the football team of which his son was a member.
Philip leaves to celebrate his life: his mother, Laura Ellis-Thomas of Sprague, Alabama; wife of 16 years, Stacey Thomas; his three children, Keana, Philip, Jr., and Preston; mother-in-law, Janitte Thomas; sister, Lisa Thomas Salery (Reginald); brothers, Charlie Thomas, Jr. (Crystal), Milton N. Thomas (Kwona), Eddie J. Thomas (Gwendolyn) and Karene Thomas (Destiny); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
