Tammy Slaton is now being applauded by viewers for her determination to get down to a healthier weight. The TLC star even underwent a whole new look – and it’s not just down to her weight loss.
Tammy Slaton’s weight loss was tough
Tammy Slaton’s weight loss was a far tougher ride than Amy Slaton, who looks amazing. She put her health first and lost enough weight to safely deliver two babies, and fans are so proud of her.
For her sibling, Tammy was in and out of rehab, weighed almost 720lbs, and had far more weight to lose. Amy weighed 406lbs at the initial weigh-in, and managed to keep getting her weight down.
Tammy got down to 500lb by the end of the inaugural season, but she gained it back during the covid lockdown. It was a tough ride for the star, who faced huge struggles, such as almost losing her life.
She faced death scare during rehab
Emotionally and physically, TLC’s Tammy Slaton had a lot of mental struggles. She tearfully said she “doesn’t feel good” after reaching her heaviest weight in 1000-lb sisters season 4, of 717lbs.
She nearly died after she stopped breathing and was put in an induced coma on life support. However, that was the reality check she needed to urge her to drop the pounds, as she vowed to never let her body “defeat her.”
While Amy had a tough ride, Tammy faced a whole whirlwind setbacks. Her struggles have made her the strong woman she is today, though, including her final attempt to lose weight in rehabilitation.
1000-lb Sisters star has a whole new look
Tammy, who once weighed 717 pounds, has stayed on the right track despite her estranged husband Caleb Willingham’s devastating death. Tammy, 36, now weighs under 340lbs thanks to her dedication.
She dipped below 400 pounds after her February 2023 weight loss. TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters first aired in 2020, meaning it’s taken just three years for Tammy Slaton to drop to her current body weight.
In a new look, she is donning goth chic vibes, with fans overjoyed at her newfound confidence. One fan commented: “You’re really going to just thirst trap us like this? YOU LOOK SOOOOOO GOOD BABES!!!!!”
