Michael Carr Obituary, Death – Following his untimely death on Sunday in a horrific crash in Plaquemines Parish, 32-year-old Michael Carr is being mourned by the Staten Island community. Early in the morning, according to Louisiana State Police, Carr, a resident of Baytown, Texas, was traveling on LA 23 when he was involved in a collision with another driver, Peter Thomason, of Devine, Texas.
Authorities said that after trying to change lanes from behind Carr, Thomason suddenly sought to go back into the right lane. Sadly, this move caused Thomason to collide with Carr’s car’s rear end. Carr was thrown off the road by the accident and struck a concrete power pole. Carr passed away at the scene from his injuries even though he was wearing a seatbelt. Investigators gave Thomason a breathalyzer test after the collision, and the results showed that his blood alcohol content was over the permitted limit.
He was placed under arrest and lodged in the Plaquemines Parish jail. Thomason is being charged with numerous serious offenses, such as reckless operation, vehicular homicide, and vehicular negligent injury.
