Both of his sons, David and Mark, served in the AACOFD and eventually retired from the department, carrying on his legacy of service. His dedication to duty was a family affair. Following Donald Smith’s departure, another corner block of our department has been removed from the equation. Everyone who had the honor of knowing him will always hold his memory in the highest regard.
