Cops search for suspect who forced victim out of car by her hair

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -- Police are searching for a teen accused of forcing a woman out of her vehicle by her hair at the drive-thru window of a Dunkin Donuts.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Department, the suspect stole a vehicle during a July 8 robbery at the Dunkin Donuts located in the 7800 block of McGinnis Ferry Road.

Authorities said the victim had placed her order and was in the drive-thru line of the Dunkin Donuts when Alford tried to get in her car. Within seconds, he opened the door, grabbed the woman by her hair and dragged her out of the car.

The vehicle was later recovered in a nearby subdivision. Investigators told 11Alive's LaTasha Givens that evidence found in the vehicle is linked to 19-year-old Wayne Alford of Atlanta.

Deputies said a fingerprint led to Alford.

"During our investigation into this incident we found that he was involved in a pursuit in Suwanee and it seems as if in an attempt to get away from Suwanee he committed this carjacking to try to get away from them," said Forsyth County Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez.

Alford is facing charges of robbery, simple battery and carjacking.

Anyone with information on Alford's whereabouts is asked to call the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office at (770) 781-2222.
