Brenda A. Whitehurst – Metropolitan Funeral

Our beloved Brenda Adamson Whitehurst was born on November 23, 1947, to the late Percival Adamson, Sr., and Kathryn Adamson. Brenda was predeceased by her siblings Percival Adamson, Jr., and Jane Mabry. 

Brenda was a graduate of the 1966 class of Crestwood High School. She went on to further her education at Saint Paul College receiving a BA and Troy University receiving a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. Brenda retired from Old Dominion University in 2013 after thirty-five years of service and returned to ODU to work part time until September of 2019. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church South Hill where she enjoyed volunteering with the food pantry. She also enjoyed reading, watching game shows, and the food network where she would learn new recipes that she could not wait to try out for her family. 

Brenda leaves behind to cherish her memory, best friend Dwight Whitehurst, Sr., son Dwight Whitehurst, Jr., of Baltimore, MD; daughter Tara Whitehurst (Arthur) of Framingham, MA; daughter Tia Whitehurst Caffee ( LaShawn) of Chesapeake, VA. Grandchildren: Jeremy Whitehurst, Shauntell Whitehurst-Joyner, Shawndell Joyner, Jr., TiaShaun Joyner, Athena Whitehurst-Crump, and Larkin Whithurst-Crump, Great Grandchildren; Jahlil Whitehurst, Kaiden Joyner, Jaylen Whitehurst, and Khamari Joyner; Stepdaughter Tracy Tucker; adopted daughter Inger Goss, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
