Born on August 21, 1975, Alicia Roanne Witt is an actress, singer, and pianist from the United States. She grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts. 

Her mother, Diane (née Pietro) was a junior high school reading teacher, and her father, Robert Witt was a science teacher and photographer.

From 1989 through 1996, her mum was an American who held the Guinness World Record for the longest hair in history. Her brother’s name is Ian, and he is her younger brother. 

Witt has been hailed as a child prodigy, having started talking at the age of two and reading at the age of four. She was homeschooled.

Director David Lynch spotted her acting skills when he saw her reciting Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet mostly on the television program That’s Incredible! at the age of five in 1980. 

Before Witt received her high school equivalency certification at the age of 14, Lynch started working with her in cinema and television.

Witt attended four piano lessons a week to the age of ten to fourteen, also from a Boston University professor, but participated nationwide.

Personal Life

Alicia Witt’s first well-known boyfriend was Peter Krause. She dated him from the year 1995 to 1999. But the relationship could not survive and they broke up.

Then, Alicia Witt found Nathan Foulger, a film director. They started dating in 2001, and their relationship ended in 2006. Despite rumors that she was married to him, the actress subsequently confirmed that she just dated him.

When Ben Folds and his fourth wife divorced in 2012, Alicia Witt was said to be seeing a songwriter named Ben Folds. Unfortunately, the couple’s relationship barely lasted two years before they split up.

Breakthrough

Alicia Witt came to Hollywood alongside her mum to seek a career as an actor after graduating from high school at the age of 14. 

She then appeared on Wheel of Fortune and had minor appearances in Liebestraum, Bodies, Rest & Motion, and The Disappearance of Vonnie, among other films.

She rose to prominence as a child actor after David Lynch spotted her and featured her in the films Dune (1984) and Twin Peaks (1990). 

Witt has also played a troubled youngster in Fun (1994) and a music learner in Mr. Holland’s Opus (1995). Witt has been regarded as a musical prodigy, as a skilled pianist, singer, and composer, in addition to its role. 

In 1994, Witt received her first leading part in a film, ‘Fun,’ in which she played a deranged, violent adolescent and won the Sundance Festival’s Special Jury Recognition Award.

Witt worked with Al Pacino on the films ‘Last Holiday’ and ’88 Minutes’ before joining the cast of ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ for the 2007–2008 season.

In 2012, Witt played Elaine Clayton in the film ‘Cowgirls n’ Angels,’ and in 2013, she co-starred alongside Peter Bogdanovich and Cheryl Hines in the indie film ‘Cold Turkey.’

Witt has appeared in eight annual Hallmark Christmas movies since 2013. She worked as an executive producer, story writer, and provided two musical compositions to 2020’s Christmas Tree Lane, which she performed on-screen.

Witt had a cameo appearance in the DirecTV series Kingdom in 2014 that premiered in October. She plays Wendy Crowe, the sharpest member of a Floridian crime family who becomes enmeshed in the show’s happenings in Kentucky, in the fifth season of the FX series Justified in 2014. 

Witt starred in two episodes of the smash series The Walking Dead in April 2016, and it was also confirmed that she would reprise her role as Gersten Hayward in the 2017 Twin Peaks season in the same month. 

Alicia Witt played Lily Sunder, a former nemesis of Castiel’s, in a special title character in Season 12 of Supernatural. She has a guest role as Zelda on Orange Is the New Black’s seventh season in 2019.

Love for Parents

To help her personal arcs and acting profession, Alicia Witt lived a quiet life away from any little distractions. She did not live with her parents. Her father Robert and mother Diane lived in their Sussex lane house and were regularly in contact with Alicia via phone.

According to the Associated Press, Robert and Diane Witt’s dead bodies were found when their daughter, Alicia Witts, hadn’t received calls or messages in many days. So she contacted a relative to check on them, but they did not respond to any door knocks or calls.

The event occurred on the same day that the actress requested autographed copies of her latest book “Small Changes” from her admirers before Christmas.

According to The Telegram & Gazette, there were indications that the old pair were having furnace issues who were using a space heater, but firemen stated there were no evidence of carbon monoxide in the house.

There were no visible symptoms of trauma. The autopsies have been scheduled, as per the police, Lt. Sean Murtha. Another source tells that the authorities believe Alicia Witt’s aging parents died of hypothermia since one of the deceased was found wearing a jacket.

Neighbors told Boston 25 that perhaps the Walking Dead celebrity’s parents were in their eighties and had health problems. Although they confirmed that Witt was believed to be close to her aging parents.

He had cancer and she was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. She was a frail little thing, a good wind would blow her away,”  a neighbor reported.

Neighbors also stated they had not heard of any heating problems at the house, while two said they had just seen an oil truck completing a delivery. Also, no foul play is suspected, according to police.
