Mika married Erja Hakkinen in 1998 and divorced after a decade of togetherness in 2008. The former couple has two children together, Aina and Hugo Ronan Hakkinen.
Their wedding was celebrated twice; on May 30, 1998, the couple married in Monaco, but the actual wedding party was held on June 13 in Porvoo.
Erja is a member of the Cancer Foundation's party committee, and the fashion show was put on to raise funds for Finnish cancer research.
